Fayyaz Mukarram

Product Designer

I've been designing for 10+ years with an emphasis on complex SaaS products across early stage startups and scaleups. I'm currently a Principal Designer at Amplitude, building the future of product analytics and experimentation. My past experience includes design roles at Chorus.ai, Dynamic Signal, LSVP, and Localwise after studying CS and HCI at UC Berkeley.

Experience

Here's a brief overview of my journey.

Tool stack

The tools I reach for and where each one earns its keep.

Figma The canvas isn't dead. Sometimes starting from a blank slate without any bias from AI is the best place to be.
Claude Design + Code Design is my idea-generation workhorse once the DS is rebuilt. Code is for quick PRs.
Cursor When I'm working on a bigger project and need the IDE.
Wispr Flow The most accurate voice dictation on the market. Saved me countless times when I'm holding a toddler and can't type.
Granola Notetaking in meetings was never difficult, but the magic with this tool is the synthesis.
Slack Love it some days, hate it on others, but it's where teams make the most decisions.
Google Docs Always writing...

Musings

Things I've been tinkering with on the side.

  • Latte art

I recently got into latte art and have gotten pretty decent at it — still chasing that perfect rosetta.

  • Photography

I've always enjoyed photography and now use it as an excuse to snap more pics of my daughter. I recently upgraded to mirrorless and I'm having fun relearning the craft.

  • Vibe coding
  • Gallery

A sampling from my photography over the years — landscapes, long exposures, and quiet moments.
